Our mission is to provide culturally sensitive, high-quality aged care services to the community in Western Sydney. Our vision is to become a leading provider of culturally sensitive aged care, ensuring dignity and comfort for our elders.
Who founded the organization, and what inspired its creation?
Auwal was founded by a group of professionals and community leaders who recognized the need for culturally appropriate aged care services in our area.
What specific needs of the Muslim community does your organization aim to address?
We aim to address the need for halal food, prayer facilities, gender-specific care options, and culturally sensitive social activities for Muslim elders.
Where will your facilities be located in Western Sydney?
We are currently in the process of raising funds for multiple locations in Western Sydney to cater for the needs of the community across Western Sydney. We're considering areas that offer easy access for families.
What types of services will you initially offer, and do you plan to expand these services in the future?
Initially, we plan to offer residential aged care services. In the future, we hope to expand to include home care services and respite care.
How can community members get involved or support the establishment of your organization?
We welcome community involvement through volunteering, participating in our fundraising events, and spreading awareness about our services.
What qualifications and experience do the founders and key staff members have in aged care and community services?
Our team includes experienced social workers, and administrators with extensive experience in both professional and community services.
How will you ensure that your services are culturally and religiously appropriate for the Muslim community?
We are developing our care protocols in consultation with Islamic scholars and experienced Muslim healthcare professionals to ensure alignment with Islamic principles.
What steps are you taking to recruit and train staff who understand the cultural and religious needs of our elders?
We're partnering with local organizations and educational institutions to recruit staff from the community and provide comprehensive cultural training.
